Introducing- Mrs. Riley!

Dear Parents,

I am so excited to be a part of Mrs. Pender’s class! Things are off to a great start here in the classroom. I would like to introduce myself. My name is Charee Riley and I will spend my spring semester with your child in the capacity of an intern as part of student teaching for my Masters of Art (M.A.T.) in Elementary Education at the University of South Carolina. I have spent my first few weeks in the class observing and participating in the class routines. The children welcomed me warmly. We have already begun to value each others’ opinions as individuals which has really strengthened us thus far. I have had the pleasure of meeting a few of the parents and look forward to meeting you all. With a group working well together it ensures that we can achieve great academic success. I also look forward to working under the close supervision of Mrs. Pender in the upcoming weeks. I am looking forward to teaching many subjects. As this date grows closer I will send you additional information. Mrs. Pender has been aiding me with numerous other teaching activities, including class room management and planning.

Please feel free to contact me if you have questions or concerns via e-mail at rileyct@email.sc.edu. I look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Charee Riley

On Tuesday night, a stunning event happened. It seems to be a circle around the moon. In Norfolk, Virginia at 12:000 midnight, I rushed to the door. I looked outside and there it was. Pitched dark blue with a round, yellow lemon sprinkled with sugar. It was scary for many people. The moon shined brightly from street to street. Half of me felt this was a sign of bad happenings. The other thought was a sign of the moon lowering itself to me. It was shimmering with stars floating around one of our most important planets. By: K.G.

Our New M.A.T. Mrs. Riley

At our school we have M.A.T.’s. They are college students being trained to become teachers.

This year we have Mrs. Riley. She is a nice and kind person who loves to read. She is also a mother, she has three children, and a dog named Hex. At one time, she was a police officer, but she did not train dogs. After she did that, she went back to college to get her degree in teaching. She has a smile that will brighten up your day. She is amazing.

Our Mountain Trip and Video by D.A.

This is the video of our mountain trip. There were very interesting facts about Table Rock Mountain. We also did investigation projects on geology in Table Rock. Once we found the rocks, animals or plants, Mrs. Pender took pictures of us with them. If you want to see the projects go to the Center for Inquiry website, click on Mrs. Pender and go under investigation projects and click on the pictures. www.richland2.org/cfi
Another thing we did on the mountain trip was visit Niven’s Farm where we did corn mazes and picked apples. The last thing we did on the mountain trip was go to McDonalds. Then we went home.

Game Designing by H.M.

Game Designing

Game designing is fun and easy and has lots of stages. The stages are getting the idea, writing all the info down, getting all the people to help, and then sending it to a person to turn it in to a game on the computer. One game that I have designed is Wizard Explorers. It’s about wizards that battle with spells and wands.
